I first noticed Alpha2Graphic (aka the graphic designer George Makrakis of A2Graphic studio) on instagram & I was immediately surprised by his infinite creativity, fine modern aesthetics, unique iconography, multi-layer «silent comments» on the contemporary society & of course the hidden messages of his (almost) romantic protagonist, the Stormtroopersoldier of the Star Wars.
It looks like I am not the only one who thinks so… More than 136K people from around the world follow the Alpha2Graphic instagram account, appreciating the talent of a 30something designer who was born in Heraklion, Crete & still works there, trying to survive the challenging economic situation in Greece. I really expect a lot from him & I am looking forward to his soon redesigned book covers of Nikos Kazantzakis, the renown Greek writer & philosopher, celebrated internationally for his «Zorba the Greek«.
I asked George for a complete story on #dimitrisgoes (instead of his usual stand-alone pictures) and this is what he has just delivered. He didn’t give me any title or description, but I think his world view is more timely & evident than ever!
In my opinion, «Total(itarian) Paradise» is a story about people who want to belong but they are -more often than not- disappointed by the system & inevitably left alone… -Dimitris Tsakoumis
And finally realise that you were born & raised to be left outside alone…
