«Gin & Tonic» was my first (plain) cocktail-love when I was about 18y old or something… but since then much has changed & mixologists have come up with a thousand more great ideas of how to mix gin (the perfect cocktail base) in order to create amazing cocktails like this one I had the other day at the Gin Joint Bar, Karitsi sq.
Apart from a perfectly-prepared Hendricks gin (my favourite!) & soda, I ordered something from the menu called «Home Is Where The Gin Is» (Beefeater 24 London Dry Gin/ Kaffir Lime/ 3 Cents Lemon Tonic Water/ Scrappy’s Cardamom Bitters). Fresh, tasty, served in a big baloon glass, that was all I needed to forget about deadlines & frightening tasks at work.
Gin Joint Bar may be famous for its great selection of gins but this doesn’t mean you can’t have something different. I also tried the «Dark ‘n Stormy» cocktail, a full-taste mix of Myers’ Dark Jamaican Rum, Gosling’s Black Seal Rum, Lime, Apricot Brandy & Ginger Ale. One word: wow!
