Naxos was my «alternative» choice of holidays this summer, a chance to stay off the beaten track of Mykonos & other cosmopolitan islands in order to get some real rest and pull myself together…
Endless white & gold sand beaches, good food in laid-back tavernas & some really welcoming & smiley locals made me forget a difficult (past) year & get ready for the new season.
Nothing more, nothing less… Maybe Tinos next year?
The age of innocence at Chora, Naxos.
Surfers’ culture (from breakfast to S.U.P. to after-hours drinks) at Water Sports in Plaka.
The way to Hawaiii (sandy beach)
#selfie at Hawaii
Choco yoghurt & quaker at Water Sports Plaka – surfers know best about healthy snacks!
Room view (tip: choose to stay near the beach & away from Chora…)
Taming vicious shark at Hawaii beach…
Yummy fruit salad with chestnuts & greek honey at Picasso Mexican restaurant & cocktail bar, Plaka beach.
Most basic but tasteful breakfast at one of the many all-day cafe-restaurants in Agios Prokopios.
Agios Prokopios, the best (but also busiest) beach of Naxos. Try it off-season…
Stay late at the beach to watch the glorious sunset!
Another spicy ginger cocktail (u know i love them!) at Swing bar in Chora.
Watermelon instead of dessert at Axiotissa most talk-of-the-town taverna-restaurant on the island (in my opinion very overestimated…)
Kedros wild beach just next to famous Hawaii…
Taking a nap after stand up paddling (S.U.P.) practice.
I was so happy to discover Naxos has its own Waffle Houses in Chora & in Plaka!
